    Ghost Town Rambles

Photo of an old Volkswagon Bug in Gold Point NV.

Gold Point NV. A Volkswagon's final resting spot!

2 weeks ago my father and I were invited to meet up with the Pauly Brothers in Gold Point, Nevada. These men have made a tradition of traveling out into the middle of the Nevada Desert to Gold Point since the mid 1960’s. The drive from Sacramento is equivalent to a plane ride from Chicago to London (about 9 hours). But that is why this place is so cool! Only the hardy road warrior photographer gets rewarded with all the colors, textures, and gradients that make Gold Point one must-go-place with a camera! Here are some images from that perfect weekend: http://bit.ly/sO4qm8

    Speaking at Sacramento State

Mystery Photo of Chip Allen (Photographer)

Self portrait of Chip Allen. Come see what the man looks like speaking- hint: this photo makes him look a lot cooler!

Tomorrow at 7 pm in Alpine Hall on the Sacramento State Campus I have the privilege to speak to the Sacramento State Camera Club. Glad I have Toastmaster Skills (my old club http://bit.ly/p86VSp)! Also notice how late I’m blogging about it…. I’m kind of sandbagging the attendance on my end. I’ve been asked to cover professional growth in photography and a little bit of technical talk about architectural photography. Anyone is free to stop by- make sure you get a coffee before hand! YAWN! No. It should be fun. See you there!
